Project Description:  On September 24th, the long-awaited National Museum of African American History & Culture opened on the US National Mall, in the shadow of the Washington Monument. doyle + associates were honored to have contributed to a project of such enormous cultural and historical significance. doyle + associates were the retail consultant for this important museum, and worked as part of a team of consultants lead by the architectural and engineering team of Freelon Adjaye Bond/SmithGroup. Services included development of the retail space program needs, functional space strategy, facility requirements, shop layout and visual display systems.
